De puntjes met elkaar verbinden.
Om de islam volledig te doorgronden moet men leren “de puntjes met elkaar te verbinden”. Bijvoorbeeld: moslims die zich houden aan de niet-problematische aspecten van de islam, geven daarmee indirect te kennen dat ze de problematische aspecten van de islam accepteren - zoals de vijandschap voor ongelovigen, de doodstraf voor afvalligen, onderdrukking van vrouwen, enzovoort.
Denk eens aan de baard van de moslims. Omdat Mohammed wilde dat zijn moslims zich onderscheidden van ongelovige christenen en joden, beval hij hen “de snor kort te knippen en de baard te laten groeien.” Dus stellen alle soennitische rechtsscholen dat het verboden is, een “zware zonde” voor mannen om hun baard af te scheren - tenzij het natuurlijk onderdeel is van een list tegen de ongelovigen, in dat geval is het toegestaan.
Voor de Ramadan deden islamitische leiders in Egypte een oproep: dat een miljoen mannen hun baard moesten laten staan om zo te laten zien dat Egypte zich houdt aan de bevelen van Mohammed. Populaire en enthousiaste predikers zoals Muhammad Hassan gingen zelfs zover dat ze baden voor de dag dat 80 miljoen Egyptenaren hun baard zouden laten staan - een getal dat waarschijnlijk ook vrouwen en kinderen omvat, omdat de hele bevolking van Egypte 80 miljoen groot is.
Amr Adib, een populaire presentator van een praatprogramma op Cairo Today, bespotte deze oproep voor “een miljoen mannenbaarden” met zijn typische sarcasme: “dit is een fantastisch streven. Tenslotte kan een man met een baard nooit een schurk zijn, nooit op straat een vrouw verkrachten, nooit een kerk in de brand steken, nooit vechten of ruziemaken, nooit stelen en nooit oneerlijk zijn!”
Hij en zijn Egyptische kijkers weten heel goed dat het juist die moslims zijn die Mohammed strikt tot in de kleinste details navolgen - de salafisten - die het meest geneigd zijn tot geweld en bedrog, waar ook de profeet een voorstander van was. Tegen het einde van het programma zei Adib ernstig en onheilspellend, dat het niet gaat om het laten staan van een baard, maar eigenlijk om het feit dat “wie eenmaal zijn baard laat staan, het bewijs levert van zijn toewijding en trouw aan alles in de islam.”
Terwijl Egyptenaren instinctief begrijpen hoe het dragen van een baard voor een moslim getuigt van trouw, of op zijn minst aanvaarding van al die ándere dingen die Mohammed heeft bevolen, vangt men soms zelfs in wazige Westerse opiniestukken een glimp van deze connectie op. Zie het volgende fragment uit een recent stuk in de New York Times getiteld “Ziedaar de machtige baard, een symbool van vroomheid en religieuze verwantschap”:
Overal in de islamitische wereld heeft de volle baard een bijklank gekregen van vroomheid en spirituele hartstocht. Het is in feite zo’n krachtig cultureel kenteken dat het ook niet-moslims inspireert... Natuurlijk is de baard alleen maar een teken van rechtschapenheid. Het is geen garantie, zoals meneer Zulfiqar (een geïnterviewde moslim) ons in herinnering brengt. “Ik herinner me een heer die terugkwam van een reis naar Pakistan en die tegen me opmerkte: ‘Ik heb één ding geleerd: hoe langer de baard, des te groter de schurk.’ Hij had verwacht dat mannen met lange baarden echt eerlijk zouden zijn, maar hij bleef mensen tegenkomen die hem belogen.” [vet Raymond Ibrahim]
Het cursief gedrukte deel spreek voor zich. Omdat de baard van de moslims vroomheid vertegenwoordigt, zijn sommige mensen, vooral westerlingen, geschokt wanneer ze ontdekken dat degenen die hem dragen vaak “boeven” en “leugenaars” zijn. In de islam zijn uiterlijke tekenen van religiositeit aan de ene kant, en bedrog aan de andere kant, verenigbaar. Dezelfde bron - Mohammed, zoals geschreven staat in de hadith - die de moslims zegt dat ze een baard moeten laten staan, pleit immers ook voor bedrog en allerlei andere praktijken die volgens Westerse begrippen tegenstrijdig zijn met vroomheid.
De hijab, of hoofddoek, die moslima’s, ook op bevel van Mohammed, verhullen, produceren dezelfde symbiose. Tawfik Hamid, die er vroeger naar streefde jihadi te worden en een kennis was van Ayman Zawahiri, de leider van Al Qaeda, merkt heel juist op dat "het toenemende aantal hijabs een sterke wisselwerking heeft met toenemend terrorisme... Terrorisme komt veel vaker voor in maatschappijen als Indonesië, Egypte en het VK nadat de hijab steeds meer ingang vond onder de moslima’s die in die gemeenschappen leven.”
De vraag is simpel: Waarom dragen sommige moslimmannen de voorgeschreven baard en waarom dragen sommige moslima’s de voorgeschreven hijab? De meeste moslims zouden zeggen dat ze dat doen omdat Mohammed het hen bevolen heeft in de hadith.
Maar als zulke moslims nauwkeurig de minder belangrijke, “uiterlijke” zaken van de islam volgen, alleen maar omdat hun profeet er een paar uitspraken over heeft gedaan in de hadith, duidt dat er dan logischerwijze niet op dat ze de belangrijke, “innerlijke” thema’s die Mohammed in de hadith constant benadrukte, ook volgen of op zijn minst als legitiem beschouwen - zoals vijandschap voor en bedrog van de infidel, en, wanneer ze ertoe in staat zijn, eeuwige jihad?

Harold Hamm, the Oklahoma-based founder and CEO of Continental Resources, the 14th-largest oil company in America, is a man who thinks big. He came to Washington last month to spread a needed message of economic optimism: With the right set of national energy policies, the United States could be "completely energy independent by the end of the decade. We can be the Saudi Arabia of oil and natural gas in the 21st century."
"President Obama is riding the wrong horse on energy," he adds. We can't come anywhere near the scale of energy production to achieve energy independence by pouring tax dollars into "green energy" sources like wind and solar, he argues. It has to come from oil and gas.
You'd expect an oilman to make the "drill, baby, drill" pitch. But since 2005 America truly has been in the midst of a revolution in oil and natural gas, which is the nation's fastest-growing manufacturing sector. No one is more responsible for that resurgence than Mr. Hamm. He was the original discoverer of the gigantic and prolific Bakken oil fields of Montana and North Dakota that have already helped move the U.S. into third place among world oil producers.
How much oil does Bakken have? The official estimate of the U.S. Geological Survey a few years ago was between four and five billion barrels. Mr. Hamm disagrees: "No way. We estimate that the entire field, fully developed, in Bakken is 24 billion barrels."

Anti-Semitism the real issue that dare not speak its name
The taxi driver was English, an English Jew who had found a better life in Israel - better pay, less anti-Semitism, safer streets, an easy air commute to his daughter in England, but close to other relatives in Israel, and lots and lots of sunshine.
That day, a Roger Whittaker song was playing on the taxi radio. This Israel, I thought, there's something beautiful here.

On the BBC website, a British journalist, neither Jewish nor Israeli, recounts this experience in Cairo: "While walking in the street, someone pushed me from behind with such force that I nearly fell over. Turning around,
I found myself surrounded by five men, one of whom tried to punch me in the face. I stopped the attack by pointing out how shameful it was for a Muslim to assault a guest in his country, especially during Ramadan.
"Relieved that the assault was over, I was appalled by the apology offered by one of my assailants: 'Sorry,' he said contritely, 'we thought you were a Jew'."

Nithing, a word of Scandinavian origin, is the most inherently offensive word in existence. It means an enemy of humanity whose evil goes far beyond the rational self-interest of a common criminal. A criminal might kill for gain, but a nithing, like Lawrence Russell Brewer or Ted Bundy, murders for pleasure. If somebody called you a nithing in Viking times, you had to fight a duel (holmgang) with him to avoid outlawry.
The U.N. has proven repeatedly that it is a liability and not an asset to world peace. It has instead served as an enabler for international aggression and terroristic violence, and it should accordingly be called the "United Nithings."

Barack Obama is a man who marches to the beat of his own drummer. The President of the United States is so laid-back he disregards protocol, and if his behavior were to be measured in drum beats, the syncopation would certainly be considered off-tempo. Either Barack Obama is ignorant when it comes to international decorum, is totally devoid of personal self-awareness, or believes the superiority of his presence supersedes the need for propriety.
On the whole, the Obamas have had their fair share of faux pas on the world stage. For instance, a few months after Obama was sworn into office, on a trip to Britain, Michelle was so overtaken with fondness for the Queen of England that she spontaneously gave her a hug
Protocol is defined as "a code prescribing strict adherence to correct etiquette and precedence (as in diplomatic exchange and in the military services)." Precedence was certainly broken when America's touchy-feely first lady, who thankfully had the wherewithal to skip the fist bump, treated the elderly royal to what the British press described as a close, demonstrative clinch.

What Comes After 'Europe'?
The riots of Athens will become those of Milan, Madrid and Marseilles. Border checkpoints will return. Currencies will be resurrected, then devalued.
When the history of the rise and fall of postwar Western Europe is someday written, it will come in three volumes. Title them "Hard Facts," "Convenient Fictions" and—the volume still being written—"Fraud."
The hardest fact on which postwar Europe was founded was military necessity, crisply summed up by Lord Ismay's famous line that NATO's mission was "to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down." The next hard fact was hard money, the gift of Ludwig Erhard, author of the economic reforms that created the Deutsche mark, abolished price controls, and put inflation in check for generations. The third hard fact was the creation of Jean Monnet's common market that gave Europe a shared economic—not political—identity.
The result was the Wirtschaftswunder in Germany, Les Trente Glorieuses in France and il miracolo economico in Italy. It could have lasted into the present day. It didn't.
In 1965, government spending as a percentage of GDP averaged 28% in Western Europe. Today it hovers just under 50%. In 1965, the fertility rate in Germany was a healthy 2.5 children per mother. Today it is a catastrophic 1.35. During the postwar years, annual GDP growth in Europe averaged 5.5%. After 1973, it rarely exceeded 2.3%. In 1973, Europeans worked 102 hours for every 100 worked by an American. By 2004 they worked just 82 hours for every 100 American ones.
It was during this general slowdown that Europe entered the convenient fiction phase.

Voor meer islam in Nederland: stem VVD...
Volgens De Telegraaf beweert het prominente VVD-lid Ben Verwaayen vandaag in een interview met NRC Handelsblad o.a. dat de “hype” over de islam voorbij is. "Goede mensen in de politiek hebben er een neus voor en weten: de hype is voorbij."
Verwaayen, op de achtergrond een belangrijk adviseur van premier Mark Rutte, zegt dat Nederland geen “anti-islam-land” is en dat er bovendien de afgelopen jaren zoveel over is gesproken dat het onderwerp “een beetje uitgepieterd” zou zijn. De recente aanvallen van Geert Wilders op het economisch instabiele Griekenland vloeien daar volgens de adviseur van premier Rutte logisch uit voort: “De Grieken zijn de nieuwe moslims.”
Wat deze VVD'er hier natuurlijk in enigszins bedekte termen zegt is dat Wilders het alleen maar over de islam heeft om de aandacht te trekken, en nu dat volgens Verwaayen passé is Wilders maar over de Grieken begint. De zoveelste ontkenning van het gevaar dat de islam voor ons land vormt door een vooraanstaand lid van een gevestigde politieke partij. En de zoveelste slinkse poging van een VVD'er om geniepig aan de stoelpoten te zagen van gedoogpartner/concurrent Wilders, zoals ook blogger Bottehond op 15 september op de website Amsterdam Post opmerkte:

De strategie van de VVD achter het gedoogakkoord heeft weinig betrekking op hetgeen prioriteit zou moeten zijn; het belang van Nederland. We hebben gezien hoe gemakkelijk de VVD dat belang onderschikt acht aan partij politiek. Mohammed, in addition to his affinity for pre-teen girls also had a compulsive hatred of dogs. Some Hadiths quote him ordering the killing of all dogs, others show him to be moderate ordering that only "'black dogs" be killed. Which gives a special edge to the not uncommon description in the Muslim world of Obama as a "black dog".
After Osama bin Laden's execution, an imam of the Al-Aqsa mosque castigated the "Western dogs" who had done it. And as it turned out a dog actually did accompany the SEAL team that took down Osama. Unlike the billions spent on trying to win over Pakistanis and Afghans, who went on aiding terrorists anyway-- the dogs remained true and loyal friends.
On September 11th, among the first responders were our four footed friends who risked their lives clambering around the smoking rubble in search of survivors. Muslims believe that an angel cannot enter a home when a dog is inside. But after the Muslims had killed thousands of Americans, it was the dogs who acted as the angels finding the bodies where they could and helping give the families of the dead something to bury.
When Muslims plot terrorist attacks, it is the bomb sniffing dogs who serve as the front line of defense against them. Military dogs walk the front lines searching out Taliban explosives and have become primary targets of enemy snipers. At airports, we would do much better to fire the TSA's gropers and luggage thieves, and dump the naked scanners, and replace them with dogs. The enemy may fool our politicians, our clergy and our law enforcement-- but they will never fool a dog.
Back in Israel, my parents found a puppy that had fallen into the hands of Muslim youths who tortured and abused it. That puppy grew into a wise and intelligent animal that went into a rage at the sight of one of its tormentors. No matter how they dressed or how well they spoke, people could be fooled, but she could never be fooled.

The tenth anniversary of 9/11 has been marked by a fresh outbreak in Britain of the political equivalent of auto-immune disease: treating the mortal enemies of the west as the victims of the west, while treating the west’s defenders as its mortal enemies.
One thing al Qaeda got right about Britain and Europe (but not about the patriotic heartlands of the US) was that they no longer had the will to fight and die for their beliefs because they no longer knew what they were.
Surely, however, even al Qaeda could not have envisaged quite how stunningly incapable the western intelligentsia and political class would be of grasping the difference between civilisation and its would-be destroyers, and how comprehensively they would therefore play into the Islamists’ hands – even now, ten years on.
For the chattering classes seem determined to give al Qaeda a helping hand in reducing the west to a state of paralysis and impotence. According to liberal opinion, every single thing America did after 9/11 was wrong.

Let’s Roll Over
We retreat to equivocation, cultural self-loathing, and utterly fraudulent misrepresentation of 9/11.
Waiting to be interviewed on the radio the other day, I found myself on hold listening to a public-service message exhorting listeners to go to 911day.org and tell their fellow citizens how they would be observing the tenth anniversary of the, ah, “tragic events.” There followed a sound bite of a lady explaining that she would be paying tribute by going and cleaning up an area of the beach.
Great! Who could object to that? Anything else? Well, another lady pledged that she “will continue to discuss anti-bullying tactics with my grandson.” Marvelous. Because studies show that many middle-school bullies graduate to hijacking passenger jets and flying them into tall buildings?
Whoa, ease up on the old judgmentalism there, pal. In New Jersey, many of whose residents were among the dead, middle-schoolers will mark the anniversary with a special 9/11 curriculum that will “analyze diversity and prejudice in U.S. history.” And, if the “9/11 Peace Story Quilt” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art teaches us anything, it’s that the “tragic events” only underline the “importance of respect.” And “understanding.” As one of the quilt panels puts it:
You should never feel left out
You are a piece of a puzzle
And without you
The whole picture can’t be seen.
And if that message of “healing and unity” doesn’t sum up what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, what does? A painting of a plane flying into a building? A sculpture of bodies falling from a skyscraper? Oh, don’t be so drearily literal. “It is still too soon,” says Midori Yashimoto, director of the New Jersey City University Visual Arts Gallery, whose exhibition “Afterwards & Forward” is intended to “promote dialogue, deeper reflection, meditation, and contextualization.” So, instead of planes and skyscrapers, it has Yoko Ono’s “Wish Tree,” on which you can hang little tags with your ideas for world peace.

Ontkenners en ondersteuners van de islamisering zullen spoedig ter verantwoording worden geroepen
Wij islamcritici kunnen er zo vaak als we willen op wijzen, dat het primaire doel van de islam de wereldheerschappij is. We kunnen onze beweringen bewijzen met duizenden uitspraken van islamitische geleerden, met honderden foto´s van demonstrerende moslims overal ter wereld, waarop ze affiches omhooghouden, waarop ze exact datgene eisen respectievelijk voorspellen: de wereldheerschappij van de islam. We kunnen wijzen op de tientallen soera´s en desbetreffende passages in de Hadiths, waarin dit wordt geëist. We kunnen uit duizenden boeken van islamitische geleerden citeren, die dit precies bevestigen: de islam is pas perfect, wanneer hij de wereldheerschappij bezit.
Het is echter net, alsof je tegen een muur praat. Meer nog: die deze niet onderhandelbare islamitische aanspraak op wereldheerschappij alleen maar citeren, worden door diegenen, tegen wie deze aanspraak gericht is en die wij willen waarschuwen, als haatpredikers, aanhangers van een onbehouwen samenzweringstheorie van een “zogenaamde” islamisering van Duitsland en Europa, als “gekken” of potentiële massamoordenaars a la Breivik gestigmatiseerd.
Behalve de gebruikelijke belastering van ons islamcritici, hebben het politieke establishment, de links aangestuurde media en de zich al lang aan de islam opdringende partijen van alle politieke richtingen inhoudelijk echter niets in te brengen tegen onze feiten en terechte waarschuwingen. Bijzonder duidelijk is hun sprake- en hulpeloosheid te zien, wanneer de aanspraak op wereldheerschappij door de moslims zelf wordt geëist. Op niet mis te verstane wijze, wereldwijd, al lang in het hart van bijna alle grotere westerse steden (bijvoorbeeld in Nederland, zie foto boven) en direct voor de ogen van de aanwezige journalisten en politici.
Plotseling wordt datgene, waarop wij islamcritici al tientallen jaren wijzen, door duizenden islamitische kelen en honderden islamitische affiches op indrukwekkende wijze en onweerlegbaar bevestigd. Maar in alle gevallen blijven de media zwijgen. Want of ze zijn er intellectueel niet toe in staat om die haat- en wereldheerschappijdemonstraties van de moslims in verband te brengen met de haat- en wereldheerschappijfilosofie van de islam, of ze zien dat de waarschuwingen van islamcritici op een dramatische manier worden bevestigd en willen hun fatale foutieve inschatting m.b.t. de islam niet toegeven.

The president continues to repeat his non-solution solutions, so I’ll continue to repeat this actual solution. Earlier this summer, I wrote about an IHS-CERA study that showed picking up the pace of Gulf Oil permitting could result in 230,000 jobs. Predictably, the administration’s response to the study was not to take its recommendations to heart — but, rather, to criticize the study itself. Bromwich can nitpick the study’s methodology, but it doesn’t change the facts: The BOEMRE has allowed applications to pile up at an inexcusable rate, given the industry’s compliance with new regulations and the nation’s dire need for jobs. Allow this video from the Offshore Marine Service Association to drive that point home:

White House aides suggested that new deficit spending in the near term to try to promote job creation would be paid for in the future – the “out years,” in legislative jargon – but they did not specify what would be cut or what revenues they would use.Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the road when the bills come due.

Spencer Weitman is the President of National Cement, which recently suspended construction of a new $350 million cement kiln in Ragland, AL due to regulatory obstacles. The construction project would have created more than 1,500 construction jobs and 20 new full-time operational positions, but was determined too costly and unpredictable because of proposed changes to EPA Clean Air Act regulations. The President's Speech Impediment

In everyday life, when you don't have something to say, you avoid the stage. In our nation's capital, by contrast, the world operates like the one Alice found behind the Looking Glass. That's a world where you have to run as hard as you can just to stay still. Which helps explain why President Obama will this week be addressing a joint session of Congress that doesn't really want to hear from him about a jobs plan that he doesn't really have.
Expectations are high, the byproduct of a highly publicized back and forth with Republican Speaker John Boehner over the date of the president's speech. If you're a White House with a message, that's a good thing. Unfortunately for President Obama, he doesn't have one.
How do we know he doesn't? We know it from the White House itself. On Friday, Ed Henry quoted an unnamed presidential aide telling Fox News that while he didn't want to "downplay the speech," he needed to shoot down "the idea that this is the be-all and end-all."
So if this is not the "be-all and end-all" we've been told it was for weeks, why the initial announcement it would be held the same night Republican presidential candidates were holding a televised debate? And why do it before a joint session of Congress?

Na tweeëneenhalf jaar in het Witte Huis en een uitgebreide luxe-vakantie in Martha's Vineyard is het eindelijk zover: Obama heeft een banenplan om de Amerikaanse economie uit het slop te trekken. Hij kondigt aan dat hij zijn plan aan het Amerikaanse publiek openbaar gaat maken op 7 september om 8.00 uur 's avonds tijdens een gezamenlijke zitting van het Huis van Afgevaardigden en de Senaat.
De keuze van het tijdstip is typisch Obama. Hij kiest de avond van het Republikeinse Presidentiële Debat in de Reagan Library, dat al maanden gepland staat. Dat zou diverse gevolgen hebben. Terwijl uit het bovenstaande verhaal blijkt dat Obama een kuil probeerde te graven voor de Republikeinen en er nu zelf in is gevallen, wekt het artikel in De Telegraaf de indruk dat de Republikeinen zo respectloos waren om de arme ziel te dwingen zijn speech te verschuiven. Gezien het feit dat bovenstaande gegevens woensdagavond al op talloze blogs zoals HotAir en Michelle Malkin te vinden waren, is het een schande dat De Telegraaf zijn lezers een dergelijk tendentieus artikel durft voor te schotelen.

Obama wijkt voor tv-debat Republikeinen.
WASHINGTON - De Amerikaanse president Barack Obama heeft een knieval gemaakt voor de Republikeinse partij. Na urenlange harde onderhandelingen heeft hij een belangrijke speech over een banenplan een dag uitgesteld, zodat de presentatie niet meer samenvalt met een debat tussen de Republikeinse presidentskandidaten.
De Republikeinse voorzitter van het Huis van Afgevaardigden John Boehner had het uitstel naar donderdag 8 september geëist. Democratische partijgenoten van Obama spreken schande van de gang van zaken.
Weer eens een schoolvoorbeeld van hoe de Nederlandse burger dag in, dag uit met leugens en halve waarheden door onze "kwaliteitsmedia" wordt geïndoctrineerd.
Want hoe zat het nu werkelijk in elkaar?
Na tweeëneenhalf jaar in het Witte Huis en een uitgebreide luxe-vakantie in Martha's Vineyard is het eindelijk zover: Obama heeft een banenplan om de Amerikaanse economie uit het slop te trekken. Hij kondigt aan dat hij zijn plan aan het Amerikaanse publiek openbaar gaat maken op 7 september om 8.00 uur 's avonds tijdens een gezamenlijke zitting van het Huis van Afgevaardigden en de Senaat.
De keuze van het tijdstip is typisch Obama. Hij kiest de avond van het Republikeinse Presidentiële Debat in de Reagan Library, dat al maanden gepland staat. Dat zou diverse gevolgen hebben. Multiculti-schock: migranten willen geen Roma-kinderen op school
De multiculturele schijnidylle breekt steeds sneller uit elkaar. Onlangs nog hebben we er over bericht, dat Amerikaanse Indianen om racistische redenen zwarten verjagen. En nu komt het volgende choquerende nieuws: in België willen migranten hun kinderen niet langer naar schoolklassen sturen met andere migrantenkinderen. Ze wijzen vooral Roma en Oost-Europese christenen af. Midden in Europa breekt vanuit het oogpunt van de migranten nu uit elkaar, wat sowieso niet bij elkaar hoort.
De Belgen wreven zich de afgelopen dagen verbaasd de ogen uit. Ze lazen krantenkoppen zoals “Ook allochtonen ontvluchten concentratiescholen”.Dat betekent, dat buitenlanders geen schoolklassen met veel buitenlandse kinderen willen. In zulke artikelen wordt dan gezegd, dat intelligente migranten overal hun kinderen uit klassen zouden halen met een groot aandeel buitenlanders en deze liever naar “blanke voorsteden” zouden sturen waar nog zo weinig mogelijk migrantenkinderen zouden zijn. In een stad als Antwerpen vind je daarom in de binnenstad nu praktisch alleen nog maar scholen met heel veel buitenlandse kinderen en in de scholen van de voorsteden de kinderen van autochtonen en van intelligentere migranten.

Unlike many of my comrades in the punditry game, I don’t do a lot of TV. But I’m currently promoting my latest doom-mongering bestseller, so I’m spending more time than usual on the telly circuit. This week I was on the BBC’s current-affairs flagship Newsnight. My moment in the spotlight followed a report on the recent riots in English cities, in the course of which an undercover reporter interviewed various rioters from Manchester who’d had a grand old time setting their city ablaze and then expressed no remorse over it. There then followed a studio discussion, along the usual lines. The host introduced a security guard who’d fought for Queen and country in Afghanistan and Bosnia and asked whether he sympathized with his neighbors. He did. When you live in an “impoverished society,” he said, “people do what they have to do to survive.”

What’s REALLY Happening in the Middle East Today

A few hours ago I wrote that the Egyptian military government reportedly told Israel that a major Israeli offensive into the Gaza Strip might create an out-of-control situation in Egypt. The Egyptian generals weren’t being threatening or hostile, they were saying that they could either not control a wave of violence that would result or perhaps be unable to resist demands for strong action. For this and other reasons, Israel has not retaliated.
One reason for the generals’ lack of desire to confront Israel now–aside from knowing they would be defeated and lose U.S. aid–is that they may be aware of three things. First, the Egyptian government has acknowledged that three Egyptian citizens participated in the terror attack on Israel. The story is covered here.
Second, as was made clear by his comrades at the funeral, Egyptian soldiers killed an Israeli soldier in an unprovoked shooting as the Israelis were packing up to leave the border area.
Third, the Egyptian government knows that three Egyptian soldiers were not killed by Israel on purpose but were spotted by an Israeli helicopter hunting the terrorists, who were wearing Egyptian army uniforms, and fired two missiles and machine guns at them.

Diegenen, die zich hier met open ogen voor drukken, verdienen de vloeken van diegenen, die na hen komen – en vaak genoeg krijgen ze die dan ook.

Conquering the Storm
In the coming days we’ll sort through the repercussions of S&P’s downgrade of our credit rating, including concerns about the impact a potential interest rate increase would have on our ability to service our suffocating $14.5 trillion debt.
I’m surprised that so many people seem surprised by S&P’s decision. Weren’t people paying attention over the last year or so when we were getting warning after warning from various credit rating agencies that this was coming? I’ve been writing and speaking about it myself for quite some time.
Back in December 2010, I wrote: “If the European debt crisis teaches us anything, it’s that tomorrow always comes. Sooner or later, the markets will expect us to settle the bill for the enormous Obama-Pelosi-Reid spending binge. We’ve already been warned by the credit ratings agency Moody’s that unless we get serious about reducing our deficit, we may face a downgrade of our credit rating.” And again in January, in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address I wrote: “With credit ratings agency Moody’s warning us that the federal government must reverse the rapid growth of national debt or face losing our triple-A rating, keep in mind that a nation doesn’t look so ‘great’ when its credit rating is in tatters.”
One doesn’t need a Harvard Law degree to figure this out! Just look across the pond at Europe. European nations with less debt and smaller deficits than ours and with real “austerity” plans in place to deal with them have had their ratings downgraded. By what magical thinking did we figure we could run up perpetual trillion dollar deficits and still somehow avoid the unforgiving mathematics of a downgrade? Nothing is ever “too big to fail.” And there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Didn’t we all learn that in our micro and macro econ classes? I did at the University of Idaho. How could Obama skip through Columbia and Harvard without learning that?

Het gelijk van Breivik
Nu de kruitdampen uit de handguns van Breivik wat opgetrokken zijn, leek het mij goed om met enige reflectie terug te blikken en vooruit te kijken.
Breivik heeft gelijk. Niet met de moorden natuurlijk, maar wel met betrekking tot de rode draad uit zijn Manifest. Bijeengeplakt of niet, de boodschap is onmiskenbaar: het Westen heeft zitten pitten en een haar vijandige cultuur binnen de poorten gehaald, die het voortbestaan van het vrije Westen bedreigt en degenen die hiervoor verantwoordelijk moeten worden gesteld zijn de cultureel marxisten. Dat is zijn boodschap. En die boodschap is juist.
In dit stuk wil ik het niet over zijn Manifest hebben, daarover is al meer dan genoeg geschreven, ook door ondergetekende, de man in kwestie, Breivik, is volkomen doorgedraaid en verder als individu niet relevant voor wat komen gaat. Zijn opvattingen daarentegen wel. Ik wil het hebben over de oorzaken dat in het relatief ruime en rustige Noorwegen een ‘Breivik’ kan opstaan en met name welke gevolgen dat heeft voor de politieke ontwikkelingen binnen Europa over het algemeen en Nederland in het bijzonder.
De titel van dit stukje is bewust provocerend. Waarom ?
Ik ben het policor geleuter van de afgelopen decennia, tot op de dag van nu, een beetje zat. Overigens ook de harde toon van de tweets en het gestigmatiseer op blogs. Van links tot rechts. Laten we de knuppel maar in het hoenderhok gooien. Het is tijd voor bezinning.

‘I’m just quitting’: A scene right out of ‘Atlas Shrugged’ in Birmingham
If it had been a scene in “Atlas Shrugged,” the guy would have disappeared into the secrecy of Colorado with a shadowy figure who we would later learn to be John Galt. In real life, the story will probably be more complex. But I wonder how long it’s going to be before businesspeople really do start walking away and deciding it’s not worth doing business in America today. Or it it already happening and we just don’t know it?
The man you see in the picture at the right is named Ronnie Bryant. He operates coal mines in Alabama. I’d never heard of him until this morning, but after what I saw and heard from him, I’d say he’s a bit like a southern version of Ellis Wyatt from Ayn Rand’s novel. What I saw made an impression on me.

When bombs exploded on Friday in a compound of government office buildings in the heart of Oslo, I assumed, as did pretty much everyone, that the perpetrators were Islamic terrorists. But over the course of the day—as the bombings were overshadowed by the gunning down of dozens of young people at a Labor Party youth camp on a nearby island, Utøya—it emerged that these atrocities were not the work of an international jihadist organization. Instead, the perpetrator was a 32-year-old Oslo native named Anders Behring Breivik. He was motivated by a hostility to multicultural policies that, in his view, are leading his country down the path to Islamization. His response was a murderous rampage that has taken the lives of at least 92 people.
It came as stunning news that Norway had been attacked by a blond, blue-eyed, anti-Islamic terrorist. It should not have been: Several of us who have written about the rise of Islam in Europe have warned that the failure of mainstream political leaders to responsibly address the attendant challenges would result in the emergence of extremists like Breivik.

They have been joined in criticizing the president by several CEOs of big companies. Normally, the heads of huge enterprises are cautious about offending presidents, but the magnitude of the disaster apparently has caused these men to speak truth to power.

They have been joined in criticizing the president by several CEOs of big companies. Normally, the heads of huge enterprises are cautious about offending presidents, but the magnitude of the disaster apparently has caused these men to speak truth to power.

Having built a small business into a big one, I can tell you that today the impediments that the government imposes are impossible to deal with. Home Depot would never have succeeded if we'd tried to start it today. Every day you see rules and regulations from a group of Washington bureaucrats who know nothing about running a business. If you're a small businessman, the only way to deal with it is to work harder, put in more hours, and let people go. When you consider that something like 70% of the American people work for small businesses, you are talking about a big economic impact.

Black Privilege

One of my friends voluntarily attended an event recently, one that I wouldn't go to for a million bucks (well, maybe a million bucks). It was called Erasing White Privilege.
My friend, whom I'll call Andrea, sat in a room with other whites on one side, and people of color on the other. Then the whites sheepishly confessed any real or imagined offenses perpetuated against a person of color.
After the whites tried to atone for their guilt, the people of color got involved: yelling at them, preaching, and discharging much rage. Andrea's rendition of the events reminded me of those angerfests that were popular in the '70s.
Back then, people would pay to be in encounter groups, where they'd holler and smack each other with foam bats. The idea was that by releasing anger, everyone would feel better.
But guess what the research eventually found? By raging at another person (whether he deserves it or not), our anger doesn't dissipate; it grows. And the deleterious effects are not just emotional. Blood pressure rises and muscle tension increases, promoting hypertension and musculoskeletal pain.
But the studies don't matter; these days it's all about white guilt and minority rage. And the endgame isn't reconciliation and racial healing. We're living in a creepy age where revenge is the order of the day, where the left wants to seize power under the lofty guise of justice.

De tegenwoordige tijdgeest
Op straat, in de kroeg, op de sportvereniging, op het werk, waar dan ook, gaan de gesprekken over twee niet direct aan Nederland gerelateerde problemen. Ofwel het gaat over de EU, en dan met name over de beoogde financiële steun aan Zuid-Europese lidstaten, ofwel over de 'zegeningen' van de multiculturele samenleving.
Ook de nationale media worden door dezelfde problematiek beheerst.
Dit roept natuurlijk vele vragen op. Logischerwijs vragen mensen zich af: zou Nederland wellicht niet beter af geweest zijn zonder de massa immigratie? Zou Nederland niet beter af geweest zijn zonder toetreding tot de huidige EU? Hadden we niet beter, net als Denemarken een uitzonderingspositie moeten claimen, of, beter nog, net als Noorwegen en Zwitserland buiten de Unie moeten blijven? Immers die landen kennen veel minder problemen dan wij.
Het roept ook de vraag op 'is er soms iets mis met onze huidige rechtsstaat?' Bestaat er nog wel een democratie? Worden we niet 'overruled' door een politachtig bureau, dat haar hoofdzetel in Brussel heeft? Zijn we nog wel 'baas in eigen huis', en zo ja, is dat huis nog wel 'van ons'?
Deze thema's keren telkenmale terug en houdt de gemoederen flink bezig. Critici van die thema's worden niet zelden weggezet als 'populist', 'nationalist' of soms zelfs als 'fascist'.

Barack Obama has many names. He's been called Savior, Messiah, and The Annointed One. He's the first biracial and, some say, first post-racial president. He is charged as the leader of the free world, defender of democracy, and America's head of state. He's an accomplished organizer, spellbinding orator, and historically significant occupant of the Oval Office. And, he is a tyrant.
Americans hate tyrants. Tyrants are ruthless villains, hostile to the basic freedoms granted to humanity by God. Enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have spoken hope to Americans and to freedom-loving people around the world for 235 years. But, these basic, God-given rights are under assault. Not by international forces, but from within. From within America. From within the U.S. government itself and directly from the Office of the President.

The Sugar Daddy Has Run Out of Sugar; Now We Need New Leaders

Barack Obama’s big government policies continue to fail. He should put a link to the national debt clock on his BlackBerry. The gears on that clock have nearly exploded during his administration. Yesterday’s terrible job numbers should not be a surprise because it all goes back to our debt. Our dangerously unsustainable debt is wiping out our jobs, crippling our economic growth, and jeopardizing our position in the global economy as the leader of the free world.
As a governor, I had to deal with facts, even unpleasant ones. I dealt with the world as it is, not as I wished it to be. The “elite” political class in this country with their heads in the sand had better face some unpleasant facts about the world as it is. They’ve run out of money and no amount of accounting gimmicks or happy talk will change this reality. Those of us who live in the real world could see this day coming.
Back in January 2009, as governor of Alaska, I announced: “We also have to be mindful about the effect of the stimulus package on the national debt and the future economic health of the country. We won’t achieve long-term stability if we continue borrowing massive sums from foreign countries and remain dependent on foreign sources of oil and gas.” Then I urged President Obama to veto the stimulus bill because it was loaded with absolutely useless pork and unfunded mandates. Everyone knows my early and vocal opposition to that mother of all unfunded mandates known as Obamacare starting back in August 2009, and many recall my objections to the Federal Reserves’ inflationary games with our currency known as QE2 from November 2010. It’s a matter of public record that I did not go to Harvard Law School, but I can add.

Mietjes krijgen slaag
Brussel anno 2011. Jonge Maghrebijnen bedreigen op straat een homoseksueel en proberen hem te wurgen. Hij vlucht een nabijgelegen pittazaak binnen en smeekt om hulp maar daar wordt hij pas gewelddadig in elkaar getimmerd. Op facebook verwerken sommige mensen een stopbord in hun profielfoto als symbool tegen “agressie op homo’s”. Daarnaast is er een litanie van verontwaardiging in zowel pers als parlement over “homohaat”.
Vervreemding
Mijn verontwaardiging over deze laffe agressie werd enkel overstegen door het zelfbedrog van de reacties erop. Er zijn immers nog meer mensen die fysiek aangevallen worden door moslims, maar blijkbaar tellen enkel homoseksuelen.
Enkele voorbeelden uit mijn eigen omgeving, in volgorde van kwaad naar erger:
Gent.
Na middernacht keer ik alleen huiswaarts na een avond kroegbezoek. Twee Marokkanen stoppen met een brommer en roepen me iets toe. Nietsvermoedend ga ik er op af en vraag wat ze bedoelen. Uit het niets krijg ik een harde vuistslag in het gezicht en val achteruit. Instinctief sta ik op en ga op hen af. Ineens weer die vuist vanuit het niets. Ik val achterover maar voel niets. Ik besef dat het beter is af te druipen want te geïntoxiceerd om me te verdedigen.
Sint-Niklaas.
Een vriend keert huiswaarts ’s avonds en komt voorbij een Marokkaanse vzw (soort café). Men trekt hem naar binnen en doet de deur op slot. Men dwingt hem om al zijn geld af te geven maar hij verweert zich, fysiek en luidruchtig. Na veel geduw en getrek duwen ze hem buiten.
Eens buiten beseft hij een paar gemene messteken in de buikstreek te hebben gekregen. Gelukkig enkel vleeswonden.

Een vriendin gaat naar huis van haar werk, wordt letterlijk de struiken in getrokken en verkracht. De Marokkaanse dader wordt later gepakt en veroordeeld omdat er meerdere klachten waren tegen hem. (Vergelijk het Zweedse Malmö waar bijna alle verkrachtingen op blanke vrouwen – 8O% van de slachtoffers – worden gepleegd door moslims)

President Quixote's Legacy: Confused, Ill-Educated and Not Too Bright

The number of Obama supporters seems inversely related to his time in office. Many wonder what happened to "The One We Are Waiting For."
Obama assumed office in difficult economic times. After a couple of years of excuses -- which included "the problems were worse than we knew" and the generic, all-purpose "it's Bush's fault" -- Obama now owns the original problems and new ones of his own doing. An incomplete report card on his "accomplishments" would include the following:
•the economy worsened
•discretionary military efforts ("kinetic" if you prefer) increased
•an unpopular, flawed health care plan was forced on the public
•inflation increased, especially in critical goods like food and gasoline
•job prospects decreased
•the stimulus failed miserably
•"transparency in government" became a laugh-line for late night TV
•corruption in government accelerated to Chicago-style warp speed
•Housing worsened and shows no sign of bottoming soon
•Government debt and spending spun out of control
•Wall Street was bailed out and continues to enrich themselves
•Main Street was ignored and becomes poorer as bankruptcies and foreclosures mount
•race relations appear to have worsened
There are a plethora of other problems that could be attributed to Obama. In short, it is difficult to ascertain what, if anything, has improved other than the demise of Osama bin Laden.

Zijn er banden tussen de Nederlandse politiek en radicale islam?
Rhône Events, een mogelijke dekmantel?
De tegoeden van de Internationale Humanitaire Hulporganisatie in Nederland zijn op 27 april 2011 bevroren door de minister van Buitenlandse Zaken vanwege steun aan Hamas via haar dochterorganisatie in Duitsland. Deze organisatie is onderdeel van een internationaal netwerk, dat schijnt te functioneren als een belangrijke dekmantel van Hamas voor het verwerven van financiële middelen. Hamas wordt al vanaf 2003 door de Europese Unie als een terreurorganisatie gekwalificeerd. Het is opmerkelijk om de naam van deze organisatie te zien opduiken onder de Facebook-vrienden van Rhône Events.
Rhône Events biedt volgende week ruimte aan Hizb-Ut-Tahrir, een radicale moslimorganisatie, die in veel landen verboden is, omdat zij aanzet tot geweld tegen de overheid en tegen ‘ongelovigen’. Het doel van Hizb-Ut-Tahrir is om via indoctrinatie, infiltratie en uiteindelijk gewapende strijd het islamitische kalifaat te vestigen in elk land en de sharia in te voeren. In 2003 heeft het Europese Hof voor de Rechten van de Mens reeds in haar vonnis tussen Turkije en Refah Partisi geconcludeerd dat de shaira strijdig is met de waarden van de Westerse democratie. Ook in Nederland is deze organisatie actief. Onder de moslims die onder invloed van Hizb-Ut-Tahrir zijn geradicaliseerd, behoren onder andere de daders van de aanslagen in de Londense Metro.
