A television interview of a top Qatari official confessing the truth behind the origins of the war in Syria is going viral across Arabic social media during the same week a leaked top secret NSA document was published which confirms that the armed opposition in Syria was under the direct command of foreign governments from the early years of the conflict.
And according to a well-known Syria analyst and economic adviser with close contacts in the Syrian government, the explosive interview constitutes a high level "public admission to collusion and coordination between four countries to destabilize an independent state, [including] possible support for Nusra/al-Qaeda." Importantly, "this admission will help build case for what Damascus sees as an attack on its security & sovereignty. It will form basis for compensation claims."
A 2013 London press conference: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. A 2014 Hillary Clinton email confirmed Qatar as a state-sponsor of ISIS during that same time period.
As the war in Syria continues slowly winding down, it seems new source material comes out on an almost a weekly basis in the form of testimonials of top officials involved in destabilizing Syria, and even occasional leaked emails and documents which further detail covert regime change operations against the Assad government. Though much of this content serves to confirm what has already long been known by those who have never accepted the simplistic propaganda which has dominated mainstream media, details continue to fall in place, providing future historians with a clearer picture of the true nature of the war.
This process of clarity has been aided - as predicted - by the continued infighting among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) former allies Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with each side accusing the other of funding Islamic State and al-Qaeda terrorists (ironically, both true). Increasingly, the world watches as more dirty laundry is aired and the GCC implodes after years of nearly all the gulf monarchies funding jihadist movements in places like Syria, Iraq, and Libya.

Bolton: U.S. Should Support Independence for Kurds, ‘State of Iraq as We Have Known It Doesn’t Exist Anymore’
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton joined SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam and co-host Steve Bannon on Thursday’s Breitbart News Daily to talk about Kurdish independence and the future of Iraq.
“The Kurds are one of the largest ethnic groups in the world that has never had a nation in contemporary times,” Bolton explained. “Just two days ago, they held a referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan and voted well over 90 percent for independence. I think the United States should support independence for the Kurds. They’ve been friends of ours in the struggle against Saddam Hussein and the struggle against international terrorism. I think they’d be an important buffer against Iran.”
“And let’s face it: the state of Iraq as we have known it doesn’t exist anymore, and it’s not coming back together,” he added. “The Baghdad government is controlled by the ayatollahs from Tehran. On Wednesday, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg insisted that the purge of thousands in the Turkish military – including a third of the serving generals – did not weaken the military.
Stoltenberg told Reuters, “Turkey has a large armed force, professional armed forces and... I am certain they will continue as a committed and strong NATO ally.”
It would be interesting to know whether the 1,500 US soldiers who have been locked down at Incirlik Air Base along with several hundred soldiers from other NATO countries since the failed coup Friday night would agree with him.
Following the failed coup, the Erdogan regime cut off the base’s external electricity supply and temporarily suspended all flights from the base.

Turkey-ISIS Link Admitted as Supply Route Cut
A major Washington DC think tank has become the first establishment institution to publicly admit that Turkey is the main source of supplies to the ISIS stronghold of Aleppo in Syria.
In a paper produced by the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, the think tank says that the Syrian army has now “severed the main insurgent supply line from Turkey to long-contested Aleppo, Syria’s second city.”

Egypt, Syria and Turkey: The Lepers with the Fewest Fingers

With the financial news focused on the unraveling of Europe’s state finances, the mounting economic catastrophe in the Muslim world has barely merited a mention. Egypt and Syria are about to go over a cliff, while Turkey, supposedly the poster boy for Islamic success, faces a nasty economic reversal — not a catastrophe of Egyptian proportions, but sufficient to destroy Tayyip Erdogan’s reputation as an economic wizard and make his fractious country hard to govern. The so-called Arab Spring will end with no winners, only losers.

Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $36 billion before the February uprising. The central bank claims that it still has $22 billion on hand, but an analysis by the Royal Bank of Scotland reported by the Financial Times puts the true number at just $13 billion, or two months’ import coverage for a country that imports half its caloric consumption. The central bank has lost $23 billion of the $36 billion in the past ten months, the RBS analysis concludes. Adds the FT:

So hard currency is going into capital flight and into the proverbial mattress. Egyptians are even hoarding Egyptian currency, with the level of currency in circulation growing dramatically this year at an annual rate of 25 per cent, compared with 13 per cent previously.

Or, better yet, “my ass.” The Arab Spring has been with us for nearly three quarters of a year. This is not a long time as history goes. But the annual flowers of the spare land have long ago vanished into the crude, mostly gritty sand that is the Middle East. It’s not, though, as if it is at all back to “normal” in the Arab world. And, frankly, we haven’t the slightest about what normal in the Arab world is or will be. The Muslims and the Jews and the increasingly scarce but differentiated Christians who constituted the region lived (and live) recreant lives. For centuries it was the People of the Book who were put on edge or to death, mostly for what they believed and also for what crimes the authorities fantasized they had committed. (In this way the Jews of the Near East—near where, exactly?—lived lives on the edge much as they did in Christendom. Of course, if there are maybe 2,000 Jews now in all the Arab lands, it would stun me. The near-million there were are now mostly in Israel, God bless them, and in Western countries which, God bless them, welcomed them, even France, like brothers and sisters, a new enunciation offraternité.) The Peoples of the Cross were likewise persecuted—but sometimes the powerful states of Europe, both Catholic and Protestant, were able to extend a cloak of protection around Christian communities of the Levant. Though not, of course, around the Armenians. Or, for that matter, not around the Kurds either, who, mostly Sunni, some Shia, were in the Islamic orbit but distanced from that orbit’s—let’s face it—zealotry.

Who lost Turkey?

You have to hand it to Turkey's Islamist leaders. They sure know how to get their way. In the seven years since they first took power, the Islamist AKP party has successfully transformed Turkey from a staunch ally of the US and Israel and a member of NATO into a staunch ally of Iran and a member of NATO.
And that's not all. Turkey's Islamist leaders have used the Western language of democracy and freedom not only to abandon the West. They have used that language to destroy the foundations of Turkey's Western-style secular democracy and transform the governing system of NATO's sole Muslim member into a hybrid of Putinist autocracy and Iranian theocracy.
On September 12, the AKP took an enormous step toward consolidating its achievements and expanding its power. The Islamist regime won a national plebiscite on constitutional amendments that remove the remaining obstacles to its absolute power.
As a National Review reader noted, the vote was a mockery of democracy. It was held at the end of Ramadan during which the AKP provided 30 consecutive free post- Ramadan fast dinners to voters in key voting districts.

The Turkish ambassador to the United States has a long op-ed in the Washington Post asking for Israel to apologize to Turkey for the Gaza flotilla incident, and urging the U.S. to pressure Israel to act accordingly. It is an important document since Amb. Tan couches his argument in moral terms — Israel illegally detained a ship on the high seas of civilian peace activists and human rights workers, killed Turkish citizens, and violated international law.
There is, of course, no mention by Tan of the origins and nature of the Turkish “peace” group that organized the gambit. Only in passing does the ambassador mention the rallying cries of the protestors (e.g., “Whatever the aid carriers may have chanted in opposition to Israel, this was a humanitarian initiative.”), after failing to note the chants, in fact, included both calls for a new holocaust (“Shut up, go back to Auschwitz” ) and glee about Americans killed on 9/11 (“Don’t forget 9/11″).
If anyone might be offering apologies, it should be Ambassador Tan, or at least an explanation for why a ship left a Turkish port headed for a planned confrontation. A ship, it should be added, staffed in large part by the Insani Yardim Vakfi organization, which according to American and European intelligence chiefs is a terrorist organization with ties to al-Qaeda — an apparent conclusion that formerly a Turkish government used to share when it periodically raided the IHH’s compounds.

Israel-Turkey relations have gone from alliance to the verge of war because the West pretended an Islamist government could be benign.

The foolish think the breakdown is due to the recent Gaza flotilla; the naïve, who pass for the sophisticated experts, attribute the collapse to the December 2008-January 2009 Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.
Such conclusions are totally misleading. The relationship breakdown was already clear — and in private every Israeli expert dealing seriously with Turkey said so — well over two years ago: the cause was the election in Turkey of an Islamist government.
Turkey’s AK Party government has not permitted a single new military contract with Israel since it took office. The special relationship was over then.
Turkey needed Israel as an ally when a secular government in Ankara regarded Iran, Syria, and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq as its main threats. Once there was a government which regarded Iran and Syria as its closest allies, Israel became a perceived enemy.
When the Turkish armed forces were an important part of the regime, they saw Israel as a good source for military equipment and an ally against Islamists and radical Arab regimes. But once the army was to be suppressed, its wishes were a matter of no concern. Depriving it of foreign allies was a goal of the AK Party government.

Een anonieme Turkse man schrijft een brief waarin hij Israël oproept zichzelf beter te verdedigen tegen de propaganda en vuilspuiterij van haar vijanden. Hij waarschuwt: "Deze oorlog kan niet alleen worden gewonnen met wapens. Breng iedereen op de hoogte over de propaganda en maak de waarheid bekend."
Dat Israël inderdaad nog veel kan verbeteren in het bestrijden van haatzaai-propaganda klopt als een bus. Vier weken na het einde van Operation Cast Lead komt de IDF eindelijk met een rapport dat de cijfers (verstrekt door het Palestinian Center for Human Rights) over burgerslachtoffers in Gaza volledig onderuit haalt.
Niet twee-derde, maar een-derde van de slachtoffers is een burger, en bij dat aantal zijn dan zelfs nog vrouwelijke zelfmoordterroristen opgeteld en de vrouwen en kinderen van Nizar Rayyan, een commandant van Hamas die weigerde zijn familieleden te laten vertrekken nadat de IDF hem had gewaarschuwd dat zijn huis zou worden gebombardeerd.
Slachtoffers die te boek stonden als medisch personeel blijken terroristen van Hamas te zijn, zoals bijvoorbeeld Anas Naim, de neef van de Hamas minister van Gezondheid Bassem Naim, wiens foto (met kalashnikof en granaatwerper) op een website van Hamas prijkt.
Ook een klassiek voorbeeld van misleiding is het incident bij de VN-school in Jabalya, waar de IDF volgens Palestijnse berichten de school had geraakt en 40 of meer burgers had gedood. In werkelijkheid waren er 12 doden, waarvan 9 terroristen van Hamas. Bovendien heeft zelfs de VN erkend dat de IDF vijandelijk vuur beantwoordde en de school zelf niet is geraakt.

Too little, too late?
Intussen hebben de Palestijnse cijfers natuurlijk wekenlang rondgezongen en de publieke opinie beïnvloed. Operation Cast Lead is inmiddels voor velen oud nieuws, wie interesseert zich nog voor nieuwe cijfers, als ze die al onder ogen krijgen? De Israelische blogger Israellycool legt de vinger op de zere plek als hij zich afvraagt waarom deze gegevens in de Jerusalem Post voor eigen publiek worden gepubliceerd, waarom de internationale media niet wordt uitgenodigd op een persconferentie, waarom vertegenwoordigers van Israël de bevindingen niet presenteren op CNN, Fox en dergelijke. Ook vraagt hij zich af waarom niet al veel eerder is bekendgemaakt dat dit onderzoek plaatsvindt en dat de eerste resultaten aangeven dat de cijfers bewust waren verdraaid?
Hij heeft gelijk als hij zegt dat de schade al is aangericht. De Palestijnse propaganda heeft wekenlang zijn werk kunnen doen door Israël voor velen af te schilderen als een oorlogszuchtige staat die niets liever doet dan arme, zielige Palestijnen de dood in jagen. In de strijd om de publieke opinie heeft Israël nog veel te leren en te winnen.

All my life, there was always some hate to Israel in me. But i dont know why? In my country, it was always like a duty that everyone should hate Israel and their religion without any reason
Everyone hates israel here, but no one knows why. As usual, i grow up with this meaningless hate in me.
But i think, Turkey is not the only country like this. Most of non israilian people talks dirty against Israel. Its very common in all around the world.

Niet twee-derde, maar een-derde van de slachtoffers is een burger, en bij dat aantal zijn dan zelfs nog vrouwelijke zelfmoordterroristen opgeteld en de vrouwen en kinderen van Nizar Rayyan, een commandant van Hamas die weigerde zijn familieleden te laten vertrekken nadat de IDF hem had gewaarschuwd dat zijn huis zou worden gebombardeerd.
Slachtoffers die te boek stonden als medisch personeel blijken terroristen van Hamas te zijn, zoals bijvoorbeeld Anas Naim, de neef van de Hamas minister van Gezondheid Bassem Naim, wiens foto (met kalashnikof en granaatwerper) op een website van Hamas prijkt.
Ook een klassiek voorbeeld van misleiding is het incident bij de VN-school in Jabalya, waar de IDF volgens Palestijnse berichten de school had geraakt en 40 of meer burgers had gedood. In werkelijkheid waren er 12 doden, waarvan 9 terroristen van Hamas. Bovendien heeft zelfs de VN erkend dat de IDF vijandelijk vuur beantwoordde en de school zelf niet is geraakt.

Too little, too late?
Intussen hebben de Palestijnse cijfers natuurlijk wekenlang rondgezongen en de publieke opinie beïnvloed. Operation Cast Lead is inmiddels voor velen oud nieuws, wie interesseert zich nog voor nieuwe cijfers, als ze die al onder ogen krijgen? De Israelische blogger Israellycool legt de vinger op de zere plek als hij zich afvraagt waarom deze gegevens in de Jerusalem Post voor eigen publiek worden gepubliceerd, waarom de internationale media niet wordt uitgenodigd op een persconferentie, waarom vertegenwoordigers van Israël de bevindingen niet presenteren op CNN, Fox en dergelijke. Ook vraagt hij zich af waarom niet al veel eerder is bekendgemaakt dat dit onderzoek plaatsvindt en dat de eerste resultaten aangeven dat de cijfers bewust waren verdraaid?
Hij heeft gelijk als hij zegt dat de schade al is aangericht. De Palestijnse propaganda heeft wekenlang zijn werk kunnen doen door Israël voor velen af te schilderen als een oorlogszuchtige staat die niets liever doet dan arme, zielige Palestijnen de dood in jagen. In de strijd om de publieke opinie heeft Israël nog veel te leren en te winnen.
