The Sultan and I Broke His Sharia Law

On Tuesday, I was greeted by a familiar face when I read through the morning’s news: the sultan of Brunei. He looks older now than when I knew him, of course, his face doughier and more careworn.


When I was still a teenager, I was the mistress of the sultan’s brother, the prince of Brunei. My usual stance is that they weren’t bad guys, really. Just human and impossibly rich. I have often wondered what I would have done in their place, given all the power and money in the world. I’ve never come up with a satisfactory answer.

Now the sultan is making headlines for implementing Sharia law in Brunei, including a new penal code that includes stoning to death for adultery, cutting off limbs for theft, and flogging for violations such as abortion, alcohol consumption, and homosexuality. There’s also capital punishment for rape and sodomy.

I am no expert in international human rights. My only qualification in commenting on this issue is that one drunken evening in the early ’90s, the sultan and I committed at least two of the aforementioned offenses as we looked down on the lights of Kuala Lumpur from a penthouse suite.

Doorzag dat de ruimte een vacuüm is, en dat daarom de hemellichamen niet worden afgeremd maar hun beweging vasthouden. Jean Buridan, overleed 1358. Parochiepastoor. Mechanica. Nicole Oresme. Overleed 1382. Bisschop van Lisieux. Stelde vast dat de aarde om zijn as draait en dat de atmosfeer meedraait.

Wat u moet weten over Taqiyya

Taqiyya is een technische term uit het islamitisch recht. Voordat het een technische term was, betekende het ‘vrees’. Wanneer een moslim vreest dat de islam geschaad zal worden, heeft hij volgens de sharia het recht om zuinig te zijn met de waarheid. Zulke zuinigheid heet taqiyya. Onder de sharia-juristen is het een punt van discussie of een moslim in zo’n geval liegen moet of dat hij alleen maar liegen mag. Ook is er aandacht voor de vraag hoe ver hij kan gaan. Hoort taqiyya altijd het belang van de islam in het algemeen te dienen, of mogelijk ook dat van individuele moslims. Het is het mooiste als er formeel niet gelogen wordt. Een voorbeeld van taqiyya zonder liegen is het wensen van een goede kerst. Koran 112:3 leert dat God niet geboren of verwekt is. Als dat waar is, is Kerstmis, de viering van de geboorte van Gods zoon, naar islamitische normen een godslastering. In plaats van ‘goede kerst’ te wensen, kan een moslim daarom maar beter zeggen: ‘ik wens u het allerbeste’. Dat wil zeggen: ‘ik hoop dat u moslim wordt’.


Het bestaan van het leerstuk van de taqiyya heeft geen voorspellende waarde als het over het gedrag van een individuele moslim gaat. Het is net als bij polygamie. Wanneer er over de polygamie gezeurd wordt, kan een moslim tegenwerpen dat hij maar één vrouw heeft. Dat is natuurlijk vaak waar. Toch wil een geval van monogamie niet zeggen dat de islam polygamie niet toestaat. Net als bij polygamie geldt dat taqiyya iets is waarvan een moslim zonder gewetensproblemen gebruik kan maken, wanneer hij dat nodig vindt.

Een van oorsprong Iraakse jihadist uit Almere mag Nederland niet meer in. Minister Opstelten schrijft op Kamervragen van de PVV dat het verblijfsrecht van de man is beëindigd en dat de Immigratie en Naturalisatiedienst hem een inreisverbod heeft opgelegd van 20 jaar. Als hij toch terugkeert naar Nederland, bekijkt het OM of hij kan worden vervolgd, bijvoorbeeld voor oorlogsmisdrijven.

Van de man circuleerde kort geleden een foto waarop hij te zien was met vijf afgehakte hoofden. Het is niet duidelijk waar de foto is gemaakt en wie de hoofden heeft afgehakt.

Waarom een inreisverbod voor maar 20 jaar? Waarom niet levenslang? Dan ben je toch verder van het gezeur af? Of verwacht "men" nog dat deze man over 20 jaar bij een inreis in Nederland iets positiefs gaat bijdragen? Belachelijk!

Grenscontroles tijdelijk terug rond top

Rond de nucleaire top in Nederland op 24 en 25 maart wordt de grensbewaking in Nederland tijdelijk opnieuw ingevoerd. Staatssecretaris Fred Teeven (Veiligheid en Justitie) heeft dat aan de Tweede Kamer laten weten.

De loyaliteitscrisis van de huidige politici

Vele mensen vragen zich af hoe het toch komt dat onze huidige politici zoveel ‘blunders’ maken of zo ‘onverstandig’ zijn, omdat ze Nederland en haar bevolking vaak benadelen. Maar onze politici zijn vaak verre van ‘onverstandig’. Zij hebben gewoon een loyaliteitsprobleem, wat voortkomt uit de Europese Unie.


Vóór de Europese Unie werkte onze parlementaire democratie als volgt: Het volk koos een parlementaire volksvertegenwoordiging en deze diende een regering te vormen om het land zo goed mogelijk te besturen. Het Nederlandse parlement was in essentie het hoogst mogelijk haalbare politieke orgaan. Men deed er dan ook alles aan om in dit orgaan te komen en te blijven zitten. De regering had hiervoor de goedkeuring van de bevolking nodig en deed dus z'n best om de Nederlandse bevolking tegemoet te komen in haar wensen en belangen.


Dit is echter fundamenteel veranderd sinds zo’n 22 jaar geleden. De loyaliteitscrisis nam haar intrede in het jaar 1992. De Europese Unie ontstond met het tekenen van het Verdrag van Maastricht uit de -toen redelijk goed functionerende- EEG. Vanwege het feit dat de Europese Unie steeds meer macht en invloed heeft kunnen genereren in de laatste jaren, is het Nederlandse Parlement in veel gevallen niet langer het hoogst mogelijke politieke orgaan waar een politicus naar kan streven in zijn of haar carrière. Dit proces verergerde nog meer sinds het Verdrag van Lissabon wat in werking trad in 2009. Dit verdrag is overigens voor 95% de Europese Grondwet, die in Frankrijk en Nederland weggestemd werd. De EU is voor veel politici tegenwoordig dus een hoger en ook ambitieuzer doel om te behalen dan zitting te hebben in de Eerste en/of Tweede Kamer of zelfs in de regering. Om echter in de smaak te vallen bij de huidige EU regenten, dient men in de eerste plaats de EU nooit af te vallen, met als gevolg dat er een ja-knik-mentaliteit ontstaat naar de EU toe. Het is echter onvermijdelijk dat de belangen van de EU veelvuldig ingaan tegen de belangen van Nederland en de Nederlandse bevolking.


Wat dus als eindresultaat heeft, dat als je als politicus een mooie internationale carrière nastreeft, je eerst bereid moet zijn je eigen bevolking te benadelen en voor te liegen. Dit gebeurt in de hedendaagse politiek daarom ook regelmatig.

Obama’s address on the State Of The Union showed the lack of seriousness about international affairs by which his Administration has been making the world ever more dangerous for Americans. The passages on war and peace, like the rest of the speech, consisted of patent untruths loosely related to Administration programs – the former meant to justify the latter.

Whatever one might think of Obama’s domestic agenda, these couplets reflected a serious intent to advance it. Thus, because ”climate change” is the cause of Western drought and Eastern floods, Obama will impose new restrictions on the use of fossil fuels; and because “reform” of unemployment insurance will get people back to work, Congress must extend the term of current insurance for 1.6 million people. People with an interest in such things know to disregard the nonsense and to take the agenda as seriously as it is meant.

Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog konden de geallieerden meelezen met de Duitse militaire codeberichten. Dat maakte het, bijvoorbeeld, voor de geallieerden mogelijk om kort voor er ergens Duitse versterkingen arriveerden, terug te trekken en elders aan te vallen. Waarop die Duitse versterkingen weer verplaatst moesten worden naar het nieuwe strijdtoneel, maar helaas, vlak voor ze aankwamen... U kunt het zelf verder bedenken, en nazoeken onder het trefwoord Enigma. De Amerikanen konden in WO2 de Japanse diplomatieke codes lezen, en wisten daarom dat voortzetting van de oorlog met Japan in de Stille Oceaan, waar eiland voor eiland veroverd moest worden, niet haalbaar was. Vandaar Hiroshima en Nagasaki. Uit de inhoud van deze codes, Code Purple, bleek ook de noodzaak om in de Verenigde Staten honderden Japanners te interneren, velen hunner uiteraard onschuldig. De Japanse ambassadeur in Berlijn ontbeet vaak met Adolf Hitler, en deed dan in Code Purple verslag aan Tokio over Hitler’s ontbijtpraatjes en over het menu. Amerika las mee, en liet per radio olijk weten wat Hitler voor zijn ontbijt gehad had. Als de Duitsers ongerust bij de Japanners informeerden of de Japanse Code Purple misschien gekraakt was, ontkenden de Japanners verontwaardigd – en werden geloofd want bondgenoten stoot je niet voor het hoofd.

Kijk ook eens goed naar het energiebeleid van de moslimminnende Obama. Terwijl in de VS enorme hoeveelheden olie exploiteerbaar zijn geworden door fracking, en er enorme hoeveelheden gas gewonnen kunnen worden, doet Obama niets anders dan de exploitatie tegenwerken waar hij kan. De noordelijke poot van de Keystone XL pijplijn wordt al 5 jaar tegengehouden onder het mom van onderzoek naar veiligheid/milieu, nieuwe olieboringen in de Golf van Mexico zijn sinds de BP-olieramp nog steeds opgeschort. Dat dit legio banan kost en de moslimstaten in het MO kapitalen oplevert kan hem blijkbaar niets schelen...

Europa is geen Unie

Het door BurgerforumEU afgedwongen debat over een Europees referendum verliep volgens verwachting: de partijen deden hun woordje, minister Timmerfrans concludeerde dat de burger zich beter niet kan bemoeien met het werk van belangrijke mensen, en volgende week worden een paar plichtmatige moties ongemerkt weggestemd. Einde oefening, geen referendum en de nagenoeg lege Tweede Kamer was een duidelijk signaal aan het volk dat democratie niet meer zo belangrijk is in het Europa van verkiezingsjaar 2014. Tussen Brussel en Binnenhof zit een zelfsmerend olielaagje, een kinetisch mechanisme dat geen fossiele brandstof zoals 'democratie' meer nodig heeft. Het is een gesloten circuit van politieke gunsten en dito baantjes, dat wordt gevoed wordt door een onderling gevoel van onaantastbaarheid. Er is in Europa een nauwelijks te sturen en niet te remmen macht ontstaan die nergens verantwoording voor aflegt. Een fluwelen dictatuur die vrede en welvaart aan haar bevolking verkoopt als zaligmakende idealen. Maar het belang van democratische legitimiteit is niet uit te ruilen tegen vrijhandel, een eenheidsmunt, open grenzen of andere bladgouden verworvenheden. Die worden door Europese leiders als onweerlegbare waarheden gepresenteerd, maar het zijn laagjes vernis die een democratisch tekort moeten toedekken. De EU is wellicht Europees, maar zeker geen Unie. Eenheid is niet te koop met muntjes, die moet je verdienen.

The Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Yesterday was Martin Luther King Day in the US; the TV and other media were full of stories about King and his times, and what it all means today. He has been compared to Gandhi and Mandela, become an icon for American "progressives," and, of course, a historical symbol of the nonviolent civil rights struggle of the 1950s and 1960s. He won the Nobel Peace Prize, almost every major American city has a thoroughfare named for him, and, as noted, we have a national holiday in his honor--making him and Columbus the only ones to have such holidays. He was, of course, gunned down in 1968, at the age of thirty-nine; the civil rights movement he created passed to, frankly, less capable and less visionary successors, who undermined his legacy and his goal of a color-blind nation.

Before going on, let me give my answer to this question: Was he a great man? He showed great courage, commitment to his cause, insistence on nonviolence, strong political and leadership skills, patriotism, and became a highly eloquent spokesman for civil rights. "I Have a Dream" is one of the great speeches in the English language. King's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" likewise more than equals any Thoreau or Gandhi writings, and is not something that today's civil rights leaders, such as they are, could match, nor for that matter could the typical graduate of almost any university in the world today. (The letter's pacing, erudition, and the surgical preciseness with which it takes down opposing arguments remind me of that in General Sherman's letter to the Mayor of Atlanta.) King's life made a difference. He was a great man.

Ice and Cold: Global Warming Believers are Today's Climate Deniers

Just this week we had dozens of Global Warming-believing scientists, who specialize in researching ice melt in Antarctica, run into a helluva lot more Antarctic ice than their research told them would be there. So much more ice that their ship and three ice-breaking rescue vessels were stuck in ten feet of it for days (two of the vessels are still stuck). As I write this, the big news of the weekend is a cold snap across much of the country with temperatures reaching 20 and 30-year lows. And yet, despite all of what should be good news, the Global Cooling Global Warming Climate Change community is not celebrating.

Not only are Climate Change Truthers not celebrating, they are hysterical with worry that unexpected Antarctic ice discoveries and American winters returning to the normalcy those of us of a certain age remember, might hurt their religion crusade. The media is so worried they have coordinated a cover-up of the news from Antarctica and those of us pointing to what one might call the "science" of colder temperatures and increased Arctic ice are being mocked for doing so.

Granted, more ice in one area of a vast South Pole is not empirical proof that all is well in the Antarctic, but it is a great way to call attention to the fact that according to NASA, "In late September 2013, the ice surrounding Antarctica reached its annual winter maximum and set a new record."

As we reported previously on WUWT here and here, the saga of the “climate scientists/tourists trapped in ice” continues to fascinate many. Now a second ship has given up on rescue, after the Chinese ship “Snow Dragon” gave up two days ago. The Aurora Australis has abandoned rescue of the trapped Russian “research”vessel in Antarctica and a helicopter evacuation in now being ordered. This episode has taken on a heightened comedic fiasco-like quality.

Now, with such a fantastic failure in full world view, questions are going to start being asked. For example, with advanced tools at their disposal (that Mawson never had) such as near real-time satellite imaging of Antarctic sea ice, GPS navigation, on-board Internet, radar, and satellite communications, one wonders how these folks managed to get themselves stuck at all. Was it simple incompetence of ignoring the signs and data at their disposal combined with “full steam ahead” fever? Even the captain of the Aurora Australis had the good sense to turn back knowing he’d reached the limits of the ship on his rescue attempt.  Or, was it some sort of publicity stunt to draw attention? If it was the latter, it has backfired mightily.

Five Signs of Hope (Maybe) for Europe

Every now and then readers of this site, while thanking me for my coverage of the Islamization of Europe, have kindly asked if it’s possible for me to provide an occasional break from the endlessly depressing accounts of jihad and appeasement and dhimmitude and, quite simply, report on some good news for a change.

Point taken. Here, in recognition of the hopeful message of Christmas and the New Year’s promise, is a year-end dose of tidings of – well, not great joy, but at least possible positive turnarounds on various fronts.

1. BRITAIN: Walking back a dhimmi policy

The Marks and Spencer story. This one went through the whole cycle (from proud corporate declaration of spineless dhimmitude to meek apology therefor) with incredible – and gratifying – rapidity.

Just a couple of days before Christmas, a customer of the posh London retailer told the Telegraph that a Muslim clerk had refused, albeit politely, to ring up her bottle of champagne because the item offended the clerk’s religious convictions. Confronted with this story, a spokesperson for M&S affirmed that, indeed, out of respect for Islam, the store had a policy of allowing Muslim workers to refuse to serve customers purchasing (for example) alcohol and pork, and to pass these haram customers on to other, less discriminating employees.

Result: a huge public outcry, including a Facebook page promoting an M&S boycott. Within hours, M&S was not only apologizing for its wrongheaded policy but (amusingly) insisting that, in fact, it had no such policy at all, and that in the champagne incident the store’s actual policy had not been properly followed.

Learning through Pain

What will history make so far of our five-year voyage with Barack Obama? What will it make of hope and change — other than a sort of hysteria of 2008 that was a political version of the Pet Rock or the Cabbage Patch Doll derangement? Did we really experience faux-Greek columns and Latin mottoes (vero possumus) as Obama props to usher in the new order of the ages?

What exactly made David Brooks focus on trouser creases, or Chris Matthews on involuntary leg tickles? How could any serious person believe a candidate who promised to change the very terrain of the planet? Why would sober critics declare a near rookie senator “a god”?

Only as America slowly sobers up from five years of slumber can we begin to fathom Obama’s likely legacy — which is mostly wisdom acquired only from pain.

Liberals always had thought a right-wing bully president would erode civil liberties. How ironic that a charismatic, post-racial, self-described “constitutional law professor” has done more damage to our Constitution than has any president since Richard Nixon. Had the AP, IRS, or NSA scandals occurred during the Bush second term, congressional Democrats would have been calling for impeachment.

The old controversial presidential signing statements of the past are mere misdemeanors compared to Obama felonies of declaring settled law null and void, from the employer mandate to the implementation guidelines of Obamacare to exempting pet businesses and congressional staffs from the requirements of the law. A president can now decide not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, or grant pre-election, de facto amnesties. Why, then, pass laws in the first place? The idea of political opponents being audited by the IRS or critical journalists having their phones monitored will be Obama’s Nixonian legacy. After Obama, one of two things will happen: either the presidency will be redefined as a sort of super-executive that can both make and enforce statutes, or a constitutional reaction will set in, and Obamism will be cited as a danger to the republic that we wish in the future never to repeat.

Obama and the EU push Genocide

"Why can't Iran be allowed to have its own nukes?" asked a good friend of mine. "It only seems fair."

My friend is an intelligent person who has seen politics up close. And yet, such is the power of mass indoctrination, she doesn't know that Iran isn't a normal nation.

Four decades after Jimmy Carter's Iranian Hostage Crisis, which crashed his presidency and brought Ronald Reagan into office, our media have failed completely and utterly to tell the plain truth about the genocidal regime in Tehran.

When we complain about the blindness of our friends and family, we really need to point at the source: the leftist monopoly over our Organs of Propaganda. There is no genuine debate in American media. Nothing honest or worth learning. As in Europe, our Big Corporate Media peddle 24/7 leftist agit-prop. If you want to see Crony Socialism at work, simply look at NBC and its Fat Cat owners, GE/Comcast. You can be sure they benefit financially from their alliance with the Left.

This tendency reaches its nadir when the media sell our people on a purposely genocidal foreign policy. They don't use those words, of course. But that's the unmistakable goal.

SF Protesters to Obama: Please be a Dictator!

When Obama’s motorcade rocketed around San Francisco on Monday, very few locals even noticed his presence, and fewer still cared. The crowds awaiting him at each fundraiser were the by far smallest I’d seen in over five years of covering his visits here. Ticket sales to at least one of the events were so sluggish that prices had to be lowered to fill the empty seats. Out in the street, rubberneckers and protesters had dwindled to the bare minimum. This is what happens when a hero disappoints: you don’t turn on him in anger, but rather just tune him out and move on to other interests.

But even with the small turnout, there was a theme amongst Obama’s protesters/supporters (supportesters?): They didn’t want him to change his political agenda — instead, they demanded that he assume dictatorial powers so that he could finally implement the radical plans with which they already agree. The message of the day was: Stop dilly-dallying around, Mr. President: Ignore the Constitution and just make The Revolution happen, as you promised!

That message would be disturbing enough all on its own, but it becomes much more disturbing when you suspect (as I do) that many of these pro-totalitarian protesters were astroturfed. In other words: Is the White House scripting/encouraging/guiding protesters on the left to beg him to become a dictator? So that later, he can explain, “I had no choice — the people demanded it!” Or is Obama simply telegraphing to his supporters to not be so disappointed when he throws in the towel and his second term turns out to be a flop?

Let’s see what happened on Monday, and judge for yourself.

Ze is afkomstig van niemand minder dan de Turkse premier en moslimfundamentalist Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Volgens de leer is een moskee dus meer dan een alleen een gebedshuis, veel meer!
De moskee is een religieus machtssymbool en een voorbode van islamitische wetgeving, ook wel de Sharia genoemd. Vanuit veel moskeeën wordt de jihad, de gewapende strijd tegen ongelovigen, gepredikt. Helaas groeit het aantal van deze bolwerken snel en staat de teller inmiddels op 453. Momenteel wordt er in Utrecht zelfs gebouwd aan een monstermoskee met 44 meter hoge minaretten!
