Among the many great amusements of the Climategate scandal are the myriad imaginative excuses being offered by the implicated scientists and their friends in the MSM as to why this isn’t a significant story. Here are some of the best:

Nog meer klimaatfraude?

NIWA, het belangrijkste adviesorgaan met betrekking tot het klimaat van de regering van Nieuw Zeeland, ligt onder vuur wegens het manipuleren van onderzoeksgegevens teneinde een niet bestaande opwarming van de aarde aan te tonen.

Een analyse van de onaangepaste gegevens van dezelfde meetstations heeft echter tot een heel ander resultaat geleid:



Uit de cijfers is gebleken dat de gemeten temperaturen van de meetstations zonder aanwijsbare reden zijn "aangepast": de oudste gegevens werden naar beneden bijgesteld, terwijl de meer recente gegevens juist omhoog werden gekrikt.

NIWA's David Wratt ontkent dat zijn organistatie de gegevens heeft vervalst en zegt dat NIWA werkt aan een persbericht.

Tien keer nee tegen Turkije

Geert Wilders geeft tien argumenten tegen de toetreding van Turkije tot de Europese Unie. ‘Laten we het Turkse paard van Troje nooit binnenhalen.’

Begin januari ga ik naar Turkije als lid van een delegatie van de Tweede Kamercommissie Europese Zaken. Mijn eerste bezoek aan een islamitisch land sinds het uitkomen van Fitna, ruim anderhalf jaar geleden.
De afgelopen dagen heb ik veel e-mails ontvangen: ‘Meneer Wilders, ga alstublieft niet. Ze vermoorden u daar of leveren u uit aan Jordanië.’ Ik ga ervan uit dat mijn beveiliging afdoende geregeld wordt en dat de minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Maxime Verhagen – zoals hij vaker doet als ik naar het buitenland ga – garanties aan de Turkse regering vraagt en krijgt dat ik niet zal worden uitgeleverd.

Waarom ga ik naar Turkije? Omdat ik het als volksvertegenwoordiger en politiek leider van de virtueel grootste partij van Nederland niet meer dan behoorlijk vind om de Turken recht in hun gezicht te vertellen waarom ze wat ons betreft nooit lid mogen worden van de EU. Waarom voor de PVV het adagium geldt: Turkije erin, Nederland eruit!

Climategate: Violating the Social Contract of Science

The scientific method only works when fellow researchers can implicitly trust the results offered by their colleagues.

On November 19, 2009, climate science was severely shaken by the release of a collection of email messages, together with a collection of data and data processing programs, that were alleged to have been stolen, or hacked, from the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit (CRU). (See here and here for previous Pajamas Media coverage.)

So what is this “climate science” of which we speak? Trimmed down to the essentials, what scientists really do comes down to these steps:

1.Look at something happening.
2.Think of a way to explain what’s happening.
3.Make a convincing case, based on evidence and experiment, that this is the best known explanation. Part of this “convincing case” is providing enough information so that a knowledgeable person could, if necessary, perform the same experiments and get the same results. (This should really include some weasel-wording about “within experimental error,” but that’s a technical detail. What’s important is that the knowledgeable third party can get close enough to the same results to satisfy that third part.)
4.Submit that convincing case to other knowledgeable people to review, in order to see if they also find it convincing. This is what is called peer review.
5.Publish that convincing case for the rest of the world, where the results can be seen, commented upon, and challenged.
6.Every so often, others perform the same experiments and confirm or question the results.

Step 4, peer review, is essential to this whole process.

Het is het openlijk verklaarde doel van de islamitische theologie, en ook van de politieke ideologie islam, om de hele wereld onder islamitische heerschappij te plaatsen en deze zo tot het Dar al-Islam, tot het ”Huis van de Onderwerping” te maken.

Late on the night of of November 19, news broke on PJM and elsewhere that a large amount of data had been stolen from one of the major climate research institutions by an unknown hacker and made available on the Internet. The institution is the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit, home institution for Dr Phil Jones and one of the world’s centers of research into anthropogenic global warming (AGW), or “climate change.”

The emails suggest the authors co-operated covertly to ensure that only papers favorable to CO2-forced AGW were published, and that editors and journals publishing contrary papers were punished. They also attempted to “discipline” scientists and journalists who published skeptical information.

The emails suggest that the authors manipulated and “massaged” the data to strengthen the case in favor of unprecedented CO2-forced AGW, and to suppress their own data if it called AGW into question.

The emails suggest that the authors co-operated (perhaps the word is “conspired”) to prevent data from being made available to other researchers through either data archiving requests or through the Freedom of Information Acts of both the U.S. and the UK.

Deze week konden we lezen dat een computerkraker een grote hoeveelheid e-mails en andere documenten van de Climate Research Unit van de Universiteit van East Anglia gedownload en openbaar gemaakt heeft. Aanvankelijk werd gemeld dat het om het Hadley Centre zou gaan, maar dat is een ander instituut.

Klimaatcomputer gekraakt; alarmistische compromitterende emails 'op straat'

Een onbekende computerkraker heeft deze week een grote hoeveelheid emails en andere documenten gedownload van de server van de Climate Research Unit van het Britse Hadley Instituut en die nu via het web publiek gemaakt. In de skeptische blogwereld is grote opwinding hierover ontstaan. De betreffende documenten zijn afkomstig van de hoofdrolspelers uit de recente Hockeystick en Yamal-affaires waarbij de Canadees Steve McIntyre aantoonde dat het 'bewijs' dat de temperatuur in de afgelopen decennia spectaculair was gestegen op slecht onderzoek berust, en vooral ook liet zien hoe de wetenschappers een kritische analyse van hun werk frustreerden. Alhoewel de analyse van de vele nu 'vrij'-gekomen documenten nog veel tijd zal vergen levert een eerste blik al diverse voorbeelden van die obstructie op.

Geert Wilders' recent call at a Palm Beach synagogue to ban Islam has stirred up all sorts of controversy, with more "moderate" blogs speaking out in opposition to it. So let's take a closer look at the issue of banning Islam.

Banning Islam is more difficult in the United States than in Europe, because of the First Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

On the surface of it this is a fairly straightforward formulation barring the legislative branch from taking any action to create a state religion or barring the practice of any religion.

Didn't he appoint a raft of "devoted" Muslims to sensitive and high posts in government?

Op 1 december treedt het ‘Verdrag van Lissabon’ in werking, wat geen grondwet zegt te zijn maar feitelijk de EU tot een monsterlijke superstaat omvormt. Nu zelfs Vaclav Klaus, de Tsjechische premier, die als enige tegen het Euromonster durfde te spreken, gedwongen was te tekenen, gaat de E.U.S.S.R. officieel in werking. Even enkele punten van ‘Lissabon’, en wat die zullen betekenen voor onze nationale soevereiniteit en inspraak in de Unie

Nota bene: Onze politici hebben de soevereiniteit van Nederland aan Brussel verkwanseld. Ze hebben daarvoor zelfs de uitslag van een referendum genegeerd en omzeild. Er is nog één terrein over waarop het Westen onverminderd zelfvertrouwen bezit, cultureel zelfvertrouwen, en zichzelf superieur acht ten opzichte van de islam, en elke verrijking van islamitische kant vastbesloten afwijst. Moslimse religieuze leiders beschouwen dit als een gevaarlijke bedreiging van de islamitische manier van leven. Moslimse leiders dringen er dan ook op aan dat het Westen ruimte maakt voor islamitische rechtbanken waar imams vrouwen en meisjes de wet kunnen lezen volgens de normen van de sharia.

Het gaat hierbij om het waarschijnlijk meest omvangrijke journalistieke onderzoek m.b.t. het onderwerp hoeveel de islamitische migratie Europa kost. Dit is het derde deel van een serie artikelen, waarin de kosten van migratie in Europa onder de loep worden genomen. In het onderstaande artikel wordt Denemarken als voorbeeld genomen.

Islamitische immigranten met een aandeel van 4 % van de totale bevolking maken aanspraak op meer dan 40 % van de totale Deense sociale uitgaven – ieder jaar opnieuw. Maar de immateriële kosten – de ondermijning van de vrijheid en de democratie van het land evenals de immense bedreiging van de Denen door islamitische criminaliteit – zijn veel groter en niet in geld uit te drukken.
